The Collective Experiment (CE), a local environment and human conscious group, have been meeting to bring help and healing to Santa Barbara’s citizens.

CE focuses on commUNITY (CE’s Alan Avila says that “the community forgets the root of the word), communication, tolerance, personal health, and a “better-than-before mantra.”

The organization has worked closely with many local groups including Lucidity Festival’s Synaptic productions, artist collective Fishbon, Minhoas Area Clean-Up, Hands Across California, United Blood Services, and many, many more.

This Sunday, March 4, the Collective Experiment have joined forces with Evershade and the Forestry Service to clean-up local, hiking hotspot Lizard’s Mouth.

Just a few miles up the 154, CE’s Ally Gomez says that “it’s an amazing place to go. Having that space just fifteen minutes outside of Santa Barbara is too hard to resist to try taking care of. I really love being there and I feel like I need and want to give back to it.”

According to CE’s website, the volunteers with be provided “with refreshments, DJs, and live music, supplying high energy … to keep the work flow[ing] and [keep] our bodies moving.”

The Collective plans on picking up glass and other trash and pressure-washing the mounting mountain graffiti problem.

If you can’t come out to Lizard’s Mouth this weekend, other upcoming volunteer opportunities are available through The Collective such as a Shed Sale, the African American Festival in July, the transformational, electronic music festival, Lucidity, in April.
