Second period classes were startled when the fire alarm went off around 9:15 a.m on Monday morning.

The fire alarm was set off by the ventilation system utilized by the washer/dryer in the Girls Locker Room.

“Today’s drill was a good test of the evacuation and communication systems we have in place,” said Ms. Carey. “It was reassuring that everything functioned so smoothly in response to this unplanned event.”

A work order has been submitted for repair, which–once completed–will bring Dos Pueblos into compliance with recommendations made by the Fire Department upon inspection.
