The Dos Pueblos softball team, reigning CIF Division 4 champions, powered past Cabrillo on Thursday with a 5-0 non-league victory on their home turf.

Senior standout and 4 year varsity starter Hannah Harris lead the team from the pitcher’s circle recording 11 strikeouts and only allowing 2 hits.

“Today, we were just looking forward to having a good outing on our home field and playing to the best of our abilities,” said Harris.

Juniors Chloe Madill and Haley Peterson both went 2-3 at the plate, leading the team in offense. Madill knocked in the first run for the Chargers in the first inning by hitting a solid line drive down the 3rd base line that resulted in a double.

The Chargers are seeking their first league victory when they face San Marcos away this Friday.

After graduating 5 starters from last year’s CIF championship team, Madill is looking forward to “showing off” the now underclassman-heavy squad in league play.

“Securing a win tomorrow would be a great way to start off league and to defend our CIF title,” said Harris.
