High-energy, in-your-face punk/rock band The Mighty Fine played today in the DP Greek. This was the second stop on a tour that will take them from the band’s hometown San Luis Obisbo to Ventura, and down to SanDiego.

The four piece is composed of singer/guitarist Brook, guitarist Casey, Bassist Mike, and drummer Chris. Their songs combine elements of old school punk, metal, and american alt. rock.

The result is a wall of fist-pumping, subtlety-free dude rock that could well be a hit along the So-Cal coast. The guitars roar and growl, the bass stomps alongside, and the drums crash and smash in the background with a frantic energy that in no way detracts from drummer Chris’ technical competence.

The group formed four years ago because “it was a last ditch effort to be good at something” said Chris.

Guitarist and vocalist Brook said of his involvement with TMF “I’d always been in bands, but wasn’t really known as a vocalist because I’d always been a little tone-deaf. With The Mighty Fine, I wanted to give that a go, push myself, and strive to overcome the obstacle of being a little bit hard of hearing when it comes to singing.”

The Mighty Fine are planning to be back in SB during the summer to do some all ages shows so watch out for them. Their record “In Revival” is available for download on their facebook page www.facebook/themightyfine.com
