Sports update: Dos Pueblos takes out Newbury in three

The Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team destroyed the Newbury Park Panthers in just three games at DP’s very own Soveign Gym.

Final scores, 25-6, 25-20, 25-23.

The Chargers came out strong with a lead of 19-0 in the first game and finished the Panthers off winning the game, 25-6.

After the blowout of the first game, the Panthers game back with a little more momentum.

The last two games Dos Pueblos battled against Newbury Park but was able to pull out the win, 25-20, and 25-23.

Sophomore Natalie Klapp led the team with 8 kills while senior setter Maddie Leiphardt contributed to the offense with 28 assists, and senior out side hitter Marina Boulanger served six out of the 12 aces.

The win against Newbury Park puts the Chargers’ overall record at 13-10.

The Charger girls play their last league match on Tuesday October 30 against hometown rivals, the Santa Barbara Dons, and are hoping to come out first in league.
