At 12:00 sharp students across the district walked out of class to rally in protest against the election of Republican candidate Donald Trump as President of the United States. The walkout, organized by the Santa Barbara Student Activist Network, drew a crowd of several hundred students at Dos Pueblos.

Students participating in the walkout gathered in the meadow and chanted slogans before a group of around one hundred students left campus to march to a protest rally at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).

Student marchers were followed by school officials and given a police escort, and successfully reached and returned from their destination without serious incident. Students participating in the walkout were given unexcused absences for their missed classes, but were otherwise undisturbed in their protest.
