Eighteen Seniors committed to play sports on Dos Pueblos’ signing day, marking yet another great achievement for DP student athletes. Each student made an impact on their respective team and hope to continue to do so at the collegiate level.

DP senior Teodor Velikov, who has committed to swim for University of California Santa Barbara, is thrilled to begin a new chapter in his athletic career.

“I am very excited and happy to have the opportunity,” said Velikov. “I am excited about the team environment and close relationships that are built as we move forward through the season. I expect to have a lot of fun and learn a lot more about myself and the sport.”

Eric Lindheim-Marx from the men’s Swimming team is going to Wesleyan University, and Cassie Barkhorn from the women’s team will be attending Boise State University, as they both will be continuing their swimming careers.

The Dos Pueblos Women’s soccer team had a successful team this year and produced two college athletes from their program: Kiara Pickett, who will be attending Stanford University, and Raquel Uyesaka, who will play for the University of California Santa Cruz.

“My biggest fear of playing college soccer is managing my time with school studies, training, and downtime for myself,” says Uyesaka. “Playing DP soccer over the past four years has helped me prepare the lifestyle of a collegiate student athlete, I believe balancing AP classes, participating in high school sports and clubs has helped me become a well-rounded individual.”

Varsity Softball also had two signees on signing day, Siena Wagner who will be playing for Purdue University, and Anya Schmitz, who will be attending Brown University.

As both athletes move on to the collegiate level they bring with them the same determination and dedication to improve and strive for greatness.

“By playing at a higher level I hope to broaden my knowledge and skill for the game,” Schmitz said. “I hope to learn about the game on a larger aspect as I will be able to play teams from a variety of places which play the game in their own unique ways.”

All 18 athletes excelled at the high school and club level and they leave behind their legacy at DP as they continue on at the collegiate level.
